“I felt it necessary to debunk this myth and justify my coffee addiction. My research has uncovered some AMAZING news: ‘There is much more good news than bad news when it comes to coffee consumption’.
So what benefits does it deliver?
It delivers the risk of total mortality!
How cool is that? I am decreasing my chance of death while I consume the greatest drink ever invented
• It has been shown to decrease the risk of cancers.
Coffee has a lot of antioxidants and this is believed to be the reason behind its cancer preventing properties. There is a good body of research around coffee and the reduction of liver cancer in particular.
• It reduces Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease
The research here is particularly strong in showing that coffee is associated with a decreased risk of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Coffee lowers the risk of type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is an epidemic and coffee can play a role in reducing the odds of having this disease. The more coffee the better when it comes reducing diabetes with coffee.
There are Cardiovascular Benefits
There have been reports of lower heart rhythm disturbances in regular coffee drinkers as well as decreased risk of strokes for women.
• Performance Advantages
There are numerous benefits of coffee when it comes to athletic performance. This includes increased strength and power endurance, reaction time and increased recovery capacity.
All these benefits are pretty cool hey? It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t briefly outline some of the risks. Pregnant women should really limit their consumption while large quantities of coffee can lead to heart palpitations, jitters and nervousness. I would also advise limiting its intake if you have anxiety or insomnia.”
